Joana Vascocelos is a portugese artist that makes this stunning pieces of art. I am in LOVE with her works where she mixes crochet, knitting, patchwork, tassles, feathers, fur, pompoms...and lots of colors! She reminds me of Niki Saint Phalle.
I get so inspired by this kind of art, It's so femenine, joyful and magical...have a look to this beautiful creatures:

It´s impossible not to be amazed by the patters and the colors that the Ndebele tribes in South Africa use to decorate their homes. This tradition comes from the XIX century after loosing the war against the boers and the huge repression that they suffer afterwards. It was their way to protest, those symbols are codify messages. I love their art...and it's made only by the women in the tribes .
I already knew about the Ndebele tribe artwork but Walala, remind it of it! I had a crush on her beautiful patterns and designs and she just post it in her blog.
